Photographs.

--Photographs are now taken very successfully by the aid of the magnesium light--Fifteen grains in the form of fine wire will burn a minute, and not cost more than a few cents. At the distance of eight feet from the sitter the light produces a negative equal to any obtained from sunlight under the most favorable circumstances; and, by moving the light, the harshness of the shadows, and a distribution of light and shade, are completely at the control of the operator. This opens a new page in photography.
