Shocking Melicent.

--About two o'clock last evening, as a negro of Mr. James H. Grant's was at work in the Confederate Arsenal, on 7th street, he by some means became entangled in the machinery, which was in motion, and received such injuries that it was thought he would not live until nightfall. His right arm was wrenched off at the elbow and thrown the length of the workshop, while his right thigh was so crushed and mangled as to require immediate amputation.
