Flag — of Truce.

--Five hundred Yankee prisoners were started down the river yesterday morning in the steamer Wm. Allison, to be exchanged for our men who had been brought by the Yankees to City Point; but before the Allison reached Bermuda Hundreds she was notified by the Yankee authorities that they would not exchange prisoners, and that she must put back. The Yankee prisoners were then brought back to the city. It is presumed that the Yankees refused to exchange because they were unwilling that our men should bring to the city all the information which, from observation, they had obtained of their strength and movements. As the Allison put back she was followed closely as far as Gurl's Neck by two of the enemy's turreted monitors.
