Iapydes

Ἰάπυδες and Ἰάποδες). A warlike and barbarous people in the north of Illyricum, between the rivers Arsia and Tedanius. They were a mixed race, partly Illyrian and partly Celtic, who tattooed their bodies. They were subdued by Augustus. Their country was called Iapydia.
