Royal mail steamer
Arabia, from
Liverpool at 10 o'clock A. M., on the 24th, via
Queenstown on the afternoon of the 25th of August, arrived at
Halifax at 11 o'clock on Tuesday last.
The
Arabia has 102 passengers, and £11,754 in specie.
Baron de Videl has been sentenced to a year's imprisonment for the assault on his son, and the latter to a month's imprisonment for refusing to give evidence against his parent.

London Money Market.--The funds opened rather dull on the 23d of August, but the business in the money market caused a steady improvement, and they closed firm at advance, and still tending upward.
In the discount market the demand was limited, and the general rate remains at 4¼ per cent.
In the stock market loans are offering at 2½a3 per cent.--About £100,000 in gold went into the bank to-day.
