A Sergeant shot dead by a commissary.

--On Monday last, Capt. Ira B. Gibbs, of Cincinnati, shot and killed Sergeant John Joyce, of Company E, Second Kentucky Regiment, at Camp Gauley, under the following circumstances: Joyce and a number of men, who had just returned from a long and tedious scout, were ordered to work on the entrenchments. They refused to obey, and during the dispute which followed, Gibbs drew a pistol and shot the Sergeant dead. It was with difficulty that the troops were restrained from hanging him.
