Galveston not to an abandoned.

--The Galveston News, now published at Houston, alluding to the report that the abandonment of Galveston had been determined upon, says:

‘ We think we are authorized to say that this is entirely incorrect. It is possible that Galveston may have to be abandoned but we venture to say that it will not be done without a straggle, otherwise we can see no some in the extensive defaces that have been constructed during the post five or six months, and which are still progressing with great activity. Of one thing we are now sure, and that is that it the city is taken it will be at some cost to the captors, and will besides be a barren victory — for they will find nothing that it will pay to take away.
