Old Scott.

What has become of Old Scott? We have not heard of him for days. He has not yet explained to the world why he came back from Europe, and he knows the world is deeply interested in knowing all about him. He telegraphed from New York, ‘"all's well,"’ and forthwith the Yankees said he had seen Napoleon III., and held his promise that if John Bull stirred a finger, he would be down upon him. That soon turned out to be a fabrication; and then the New York Times told us he had not seen the Emperor of the French at all. The Times added that he came home because everybody in Europe thought there was to be war. If so, why the telegram?
