1 حَاكَ الثَّوْبَ حاك الثوب , aor. يَحُوكُ, inf. n. حَوْكٌ (S, Msb, K) and حِيَاكٌ (K) and حِيَاكَةٌ, (S, K,) [which last see also below,] He wove the piece of cloth. (S, K.) [See also art. حيك.] ― -b2- Hence, حاك الشِّعْرَ, aor. as above, inf. n. حَوْكٌ, (tropical:) He wove poetry. (Mbr, TA.) ― -b3- And المَطَرُ يَحُوكُ الأَرْضَ, inf. n. حَوْكٌ, (tropical:) [The rain frets the surface of the ground; makes rippling lines upon it.] (TA.) ― -b4- حاك الشَّىْءُ فِى صَدْرِى, (K,) inf. n. حَوْكٌ, or, accord. to Az, the aor. of the verb in this case is يَحِيكُ, (TA,) [and the inf. n. is حَيْكٌ, (see art. حيك,)] (assumed tropical:) The thing became fixed in my mind.
