stabbing.

--Zachariah Burnett, a soldier, belonging to the 4th Louisiana battalion, was arraigned before the Mayor yesterday on the charge of stabbing a fellow soldier named John Dowdy. The affair occurred on Main street, between 23d and 24th, on Saturday afternoon. The parties were friends, but had been drinking freely, and got into a quarrel, the nature of which it would be difficult to explain. Burnett admits that he committed the act, but is unable himself to account for it, since there was no previous animosity between them. Dowdy's attending physician said the wound was not dangerous. The case was continued to the 23d inst.
