Hon. H. C. Burnett, of
Ky., recently expelled from the Congress of the United States, having been elected a member of the Congress of the Confederate States, by the Sovereign Convention of his native State, appeared yesterday, was only qualified and took his seat.
Judge Munroe, of the District Court of
Kentucky, who was recently removed by
Lincoln because of his devotion to the
South, also took his seat as a Representative of
Kentucky.
We understand that a very large number of military appointments were confirmed yesterday, and that they will shortly be published in an army register for the
Confederate States.
Some important resolutions, touching the policy of our Government towards
Maryland have been under consideration for a few days past, but the injunction of secrecy has not been removed therefrom.
