TARNE (Τάρνη), is mentioned by Homer (Hom. Il. 5.44), and after him by Strabo (ix. p.413), as a town in Asia Minor; but Pliny (5.30) knows Tarne only as a fountain of Mount Tmolus in Lydia. [L.S]
