Springfield, Clark County, Ohio

a city of 15,000 pop., at the confluence of Mad River and Lagonda Creek, 43 miles W. of Columbus. Five railroads center here, connecting it with the principal cities in all directions. Extensively engaged in manufacturing. A large number of flouring mills are located here and in the vicinity. The center of a large and thickly populated agricultural district and a place of active trade.
