Market produce.

--We understand that a number of citizens through the intervention of a committee of the Common Council, have persuaded Gen. Winder to abolish his tariff of prices on fish, and perhaps all other articles of market produce. They will now have the privilege of making their own bargains for their butter, eggs, &c. There were more shad exposed for sale in the First Market yesterday than for some weeks previously. They were selling at five times their true value, say, from a dollar upwards, and herrings 75 cents per dozen. On the principle of supply regulating demand and price, fish should come down a peg or two.
