Arrived of the North Star.--The steamship North Star, from
California, arrived at New York on Wednesday, the 23d inst. The following is a summary of her news:
The North Star brings $620,892 in specie from
California, and $9,119 from
Aspinwall,

A writer in the
Bulletin is recommending reconstruction of the Democratic party as the only means of restoring the
Union.
The doings it the Legislature are of no particular interest.
A resolution had been passed by the Senate to exclude all persons from the floor of that heady except those authorized to be there The object was to save
Senators from the pertinacious boring of lobbyists and parties interested in bills pending.
Agricultural prospects throughout the
State are spoken of as favorable.
A general State tax, to help the ‘"floodable districts,"’ was urged.

Pacific Expositor, a religious magazines, edited by
Rev. Geo. Burrows, is dead.
Peru is in a state of great alarm in consequence of the
European intervention in Mexloo.
It appears that she fears her turn will come next.
A new periodical was to be established in
Lima to treat of American a fairs, and the consolidation of the republics system of Government in
South America.
There were fifty vessels loading with
Guam at the
Chincha Islands, mostly large vessels.
The loading was going on very slowly in consequence of the want of laborers, and it was feared that part of the vessels would get a demurrage.
From
Bolivia we learn that there has had a new attempt at revolution on the parts the military.
Gen. Torrelta seized the Commandants
General Agreda in Sucre, and proclaimed
Gen. Belzu.
There were also several other risings in various parts, which were suffocated at their birth, and the
President Acha was collecting forces to march against.
