Mrs. Jefferson Davis.

--The common statement that the wife of Jefferson Davis is the daughter of Gen. Zachary Taylor, is untrue. The first wife of Mr. D. was Gen. Taylor's daughter, a noble woman who has been in her grave for many years. His present wife is the daughter of a prominent citizen of New Orleans, but originally from the North. One of Mrs. Davis' relatives in Philadelphia has joined the volunteer force of that city.
