CADURCUM
CADURCUM a kind of linen, which took its name from the tribe
which produced it, the Cadurci, who inhabited the district now called le
Quercy in Guienne (
Strabo iv. p.191;
nivei cadurci,
Juv. 7.221). It was especially esteemed for
bedding (
Plin. Nat. 19.13 ;
Juv. 6.537), and also used for garments (
Plin. Nat. 19.8), bandages (Sulpicia ap.
Schol. Juv.
l.c.), tents (Plin.
l.c.;
Juv. 7.221,
Schol.)
