--Dr. Blanchard was lately arrested in Southern Illinois. A letter related the following about his wife, who is a Kentuckian:

‘ "When Blanchard went through Carbondale, on his way to Springfield, he was visited on the cars by his wife, a sister of John Logan, who was perfectly reckless. She cheered for Jeff. Davis, and abused the Union men in every conceivable manner; but in consideration of her sex she was not disturbed, but allowed to have her blow out all to herself.--When she entered her buggy to drive away she struck her horse into a run, and at every jump she would hit him again and shout at the top of her voice, 'Hurrah for Jeff. Davis.'"
