Victory or death.

--We are indebted to an old colleague for a specimen of a miniature battle-flag, beautifully designed, and so artistically burnished that a counterfeit will be almost impossible, on which is emblazoned a reversed cross, studded with stars, and the motto, in large letters, deep red underground, ‘"Victory or Death."’ This beautiful sample of mechanical skill is the design and workmanship of Mr. Francis La Barre, of the Virginia troops and is so conveniently arranged that it can be permanently fixed on the cap or chappean. It will be, as originally designed, an infallible badge by which the Yankee deception, so frequently practiced of late, of getting almost into our lines, in action, with a Confederate flag, or by some other despicable trickery, will be completely fooled. Mr. La Barre's temporary laboratory for the manufacture of these composition flag is on Broad street, between 6th and 7th, and is well worth a visit.
