Italian and Southern independence.

Both of these Governments have been brought into existence by the popular voice, and both have bravely established in the field their claims to independence. The sympathies of every Southerner must necessarily be with the Italian people, who are a Southern race, who have been fighting like ourselves for freedom, and been ground to the earth by a foreign Northern nationality as dissimilar from the themselves in every respect as the people of Massachusetts from those of Virginia. Nay. the enemy whom we actually have to encounter to the field are of the same race with the hereditary lose of the Italians. We can not doubt but we shall give as good an account of them at Garibaldi, and it is not among the must impossible of human events that, like the Italians, we shall have the symmetry, and possibly even the more efficient and of the nation which, but a brief period are, swept the bruted vicious of Austrian tyranny before their victories march like chat before the hurricane.
