αὐθαδίαν poet. for αὐθάδειαν (Aesch. PB 79, etc.). τοῦ νοῦ χωρίς for αὐθάδεια is not necessarily devoid of intelligence: as Heracles says (Eur. Her. 1243) αὔθαδες ὁ θεός: πρὸς δὲ τοὺς θεοὺς ἐγώ.
