ἃνδ᾽ is certainly preferable to ἃ δ᾽ ἂν in a poet whose versification is not characterised by any love of unnecessary διάλυσις. Even in prose we find ὃς ἂν δέ instead of “ὃς δὲ ἄν,” Hdt. 7.8.This text is part of:
