[124] νάρκαισιν might also be the chill of morning (cf. Propert. loc. cit.), but the word is commonly used of mental rather than physical torpor.

διδοίη cf. Iliad v. 397 εὖτέ μινβαλὼν ὀδύνῃσιν ἔδωκεν.
