A private correspondent of The Independent, writing from Washington, gives the following interesting incident:--

“A member of a Worcester company was introduced to me as a man of pluck. He received orders at 11 1/2 o'clock on Monday night that his company would move for Washington at 4 A. M. At 3 o'clock he called for the young lady to whom he was engaged, in a carriage, and they immediately drove to a clergyman's and were married. At 4 o'clock he left with his company. He is a handsome young fellow, of whom his new wife may well be proud.” --Independent, May 2.
