[*] 570. The future indicative occurs in Od. xiv. 333, ὤμοσε νῆα κατειρύσθαι καὶ ἐπαρτέας ἔμμεν ἑταίρους, οἳ δή μιν πέμψουσι φίλην ἐς πατρίδα γαῖαν. The potential optative with κέ may take the place of a future form; as οὐδέ οἱ ἄλλοι εἴς᾿, οἵ κεν κατὰ δῆμον ἀλάλκοιεν κακότητα, Od. iv. 166.So τῶν κ᾽ ἐπιβαίην, Il. v. 192 (cf. xxii. 348). In none of the Homeric examples of this construction is the relative clause negative.
