IV (F XIII, 45)
TO APPULEIUS (PROQUAESTOR IN
ASIA)
ROME
Lucius Egnatius is my most intimate friend
among the Roman knights. I commend to you his
slave Anchialus and his banking business in Asia
as earnestly as if I were commending my own
business. For I would have you believe that there
is not only a close daily intercourse between us,
but also important mutual services. Wherefore I
reiterate my request that you will see that he
understands that I have written to you with
sufficient earnestness: for as to your goodwill
towards me he had no doubt. I beg you again and
again to do so. Good-bye.
