One MS. gives ‘hic,’ which Burm. prefers and Heyne approves: but Wagn. rightly remarks that ‘his’ is more poetical, as it includes ‘hic.’ Comp. 1. 534 note. With ‘primum’ Wagn. comp. 3. 209, “Servatum ex undis Strophadum me litora primum Accipiunt.”
