τίκτε = τέξεσθαι ἔμελλε. The imperf. of this verb is in very common use. Sometimes “she was (a) mother” (v. 85), sometimes “she had to bear.”

θεόφρονα: Fit word for a future prophet, “upon whom was the spirit of God.”
