κορᾶν . . . Κρονιδᾶν: Used by poetic extension for Protogeneia the younger and Zeus, the pl. for the sing., as in fr. IV. 3, 11: γόνον ὑπάτων μὲν πατέρων μελπέμεν γυναικῶν τε Καδμειᾶν ἔμολον (of Dionysos). Bornemann's κόρας . . . φερτάτου is a purely arbitrary simplification.

ἐγχώριοι βασιλῆες: ἐγχώριοι is used in opposition to ἐπακτοί. “A purely native line of kings until . . .”
