Sandys.] τἄλλα ταῦτα These other qualities which are bodily and not mental. ἔχοντα ‘Since one has it,’ i.e. a particular form and shape assigned to him. [Ar. Vesp. 1457 τὸ γὰρ ἀποστῆναι χαλεπὸν φύσεος, ἣν ἔχοι τις άεί. S.]—οὐ γὰρ ἅν κ.τ.λ. ‘(and that he should have such is a necessity): for,’ &c. γνῶναι δ̔ ἰδόντα ‘Though it is easy enough to remark and criticise them in another.’ Kennedy. Hesych. ἐπιπλήξειν: ἐπελθεῖν, ἐπιτιμῆσαι, ὑβρίσαι. He is supposed to refer to Il. XXIII 580 καί μ᾽ οὔτινά φημι ἄλλον ἐπιπλήξειν Δαναῶν. As however the explanations are given in the aorist and not in the future, it is probable that the present passage is referred to. The use is rare. In Eur. Or. 922 ἀνεπίπληκτον ήσκηκως βίον, the variant ἀνεπίληπτον is derived from Hesychius.
