ἐπηρμένοι ἦσαν—felt eneouraged. μὴ ἀνιέναι τὰ τῶν Ἀ—not to relax their hold upon the A., i e. to keep them busy instead of disregarding them. Hence—§ 2—τὰς ναῦς ἐπλήρουν. Cf.
