But c. 54 l. 3 and c. 60.2 l. 9 prove that the attack began on Epipolae. οὔσης δὲ στενῆς—the pursuit was prob. near the Harbour. “In that swampy ground the solid path was narrow, and so was the entrance to the A. camp.” Freeman . ἵππους—apparently he does not know how many riders were killed. Donbtless in the confusion some escaped.
