ὡς ὧδ᾽ ἐχόντων: the same phrase in Aesch. Ag. 1393: so above, Aesch. Ag. 904“ὡς ὧδε τοῦδ᾽ ἔχοντος αἰάζειν πάρα”, and 281 n. For the neut. plur. part., without subject, cp. El. 1344“τελουμένων εἴποιμ᾽ ἄν” (n.).—The division of the verse between two speakers (“ἀντιλαβή”) is again used, as in 591 ff., to mark strong emotion. The interruption after “ἐχόντων” has the effect of adding emphasis to the announcement: see on O. C. 645.
