ἔς τε τὸν φίλον: these words do not go closely with ὑπουργῶν, but rather indicate generally the line of conduct in this case:—‘while, in relation to a friend,’ etc. Cp. Tr. 411“ἐς τήνδε μὴ δίκαιος ὤν”: El. 24“ἐσθλὸς εἰς ἡμᾶς γεγώς”. βουλήσομαι, as in O. T. 1077(n.), O. C. 1289: cp. below, O. C. 825, “αἰτήσομαι”: O. T. 1446“προστρέψομαι”.
