3. παρηκολουθηκότα, one who had followed the track of events. See XIX. 257 (end), and Ev. Luc. i. 3 παρηκολουθηκότι ἄνωθεν πᾶσιν ἀκριβῶς.

8. οὐδὲν...εἴσεσθαι, i.e. was none the more likely to know. The best MSS. have ἤμελλεν here and in § 192.4, and ἔμελλον in § 101.5.
