4. ὥστε ταῦθ᾽ ὑπάρχειν, i.e. that he might have these (the two towns under the two tyrants) to depend on, i.e. as ἐπιτειχίσματα ἐπὶ τὴν Ἀττικήν (§ 71).

5. μηδὲν ἐξελέγχεσθαι (sc. subj. αὑτόν): cf. the active constr. in Plat. Ap. 23 A, ἂν ἄλλον ἐξελέγξω.

6. πανταχοῦ, anywhere: cf. πάν- των, § 5.4.—πάντων ἥκιστα σύ: a sudden outburst of personality.
