ταῦτα . . δουλωθεῖεν—for the position of the first καί see c. 67, 6. It is usual to supply from ταῦτα (i.e. what they had done) a οὕτως to ἥκιστ᾽ ἃν δ.: better, I think, without; ‘that it was not likely that they would be made slaves by the A.’

δέχεσθαι—the meaning of εἶπον passes into that of κελεύω.

ἀλλ᾽ VII. 50, 3.

μιᾷ νηί—cf. II. 7.

ἡσυχάζοντας applies to the Corcyreans.
