[368] Χίμαιρα: daughter of Typhaon and Echidna in Theog. 306, 319. Gemoll suggests that the “δράκαινα” may here be identified with Echidna, Chimaera being thus the daughter of Typhoeus and the “δράκαινα”. Possibly Chimaera is simply mentioned as a similar monster, who might be expected to help the dragon.
