ἀναγκαῖον δὴ κτλ. The civic parallel is in VIII 568 D ff. φέρειν=‘lift’ (in the sinister sense of ἄγειν καὶ φέρειν: cf. Laws 762 A). On the position of ἐπιγιγνόμεναι see VII 532 C note The words ἀξιώσει νεώτερος <*>ν κτλ. correspond to VIII 568 E ff., and ἐὰνἀναλώσῃ is subordinate to ἀπονειμάμενος τῶν πατρῴων (‘his father's property,’ not, of course, ‘his patrimony’: cf. VIII 568 E).
