[34] Dolo: because, according to the legend mentioned by Serv., and a scholiast on Lycophron, Thymoetes had a grudge against Priam, who in consequence of an oracle that a child born on a certain day would be the ruin of Troy, put to death an illegitimate son of his own by Cilla, wife of Thymoetes, not Paris, who had the same birthday. ‘Iam,’ ‘now at last,’ as Henry takes it. ‘Sic ferebant’ seems to mean ‘were setting that way:’ see on 11. 345.
