[574] Invisa seems better taken with Wagn. and Henry as ‘hated’ (comp. v. 601) than with Heyne and others as ‘unseen.’ It however qualifies ‘sedebat:’ ‘sat crouching, like a hated thing,’ ‘sat in hateful solitude.’
