σοὶ (the coryphaeus) after “ὦ ξεῖνοι” (the Chorus): cp. 208 “ὦ ξένοι,...μή μ᾽ ἀνέρῃ”: 242 ff. “ὦ ξένοι, οἰκτείρατ᾽”, followed by “ὄμμα σόν”. Cp. O. T. 1111 “πρέσβεις”, 1115 “σύ”. καὶ was omitted by Herm., to make a paroemiac (when the sound and rhythm become extremely unpleasing); σοὶ was omitted, with the same object, by Brunck and Elmsley. Both words are genuine. A paroemiac is neither needful nor desirable here, when another follows so closely (177).
