πρὸς θεῶν πατρῴων, the gods of thy fathers, i.e. of the Labdacid house, which traced its descent from Agenor, son of Poseidon and father of Cadmus. This peculiarly strong adjuration occurs also Ant. 839, Ph. 933: cp. El. 411 “ὦ θεοὶ πατρῷοι, συγγένεσθέ γ᾽ ἀλλὰ νῦν”: fr. 521. 8 “῾ωομεν αρε παρτεδ βψ μαρριαγἐ θεῶν πατρῴων τῶν τε φυσάντων ἄπο”.
