ἐπ᾽ ἀλλήλ. ἀμφικ.: i.e. each of the daughters had twined her arms about her father, while he had also embraced them. Cp. Od. 8.523 “ὡς δὲ γυνὴ κλαίῃσι φίλον πόσιν ἀμφιπεσοῦσα.” λύγδην from “λύζω”, singultare. Anthol. Pal. 15. 28. 3 “λιγέως ὀλοφύρετο μήτηρ, ι λύγδην, ἱσταμένη”.
