Plantt. 2. 6. 3 (with ref. to correcting the properties of water by mixing different kinds), “δι᾽ πολλάκις ἂν ἁρμόσειε” “λεπτὸν καὶ καθαρὸν μὴ καθαρῷ καὶ παχεῖ, καὶ φρεατιαῖον ναματιαίῳ” (well water with river water), “καὶ ῥυτὸν καὶ ὄμβριον” (spring or rain water) “λιμναίῳ καὶ ἁπλῶς στασίμῳ”.
