παραχρήσῃ, ‘disregard’; cf. viii. 20. 1 παραχρησάμενοι τὸν χρησμόν; vii. 223. 3 (used absolutely of the Spartans at Thermopylae). παραβάλῃ, ‘strike aside,’ and so ‘deceive’; cf. the more common παρακρούεσθαι.
