ἐνδέειν. Cf. Il. ii. 111Ζεύς με μέγα Κρονίδης ἄτῃ ἐνέδησε βαρείῃ”.


αἱρέεται: asyndeton used for colloquial effect; cf. τέῳ καί, ‘just in what way,’ for another vivid colloquialism.
