If reading μοῦνος μ. is right, it is modelled on Homeric οἰόθεν οἶος (Il. vii. 39).
κατέβαινε is used with a sort of zeugma here. Tr. ‘he had recourse to prayers and (ended by) urging him’. For the use of the part. κελεύων cf. 90. 3.
