φονεὺς μέν. The rhetorical turn is to be noted, and the contrast between Adrastus' royal birth and the disasters which had befallen him. φονεύς is of course not literally true, but the exaggeration is natural. So Euripides makes Hecuba (882) call the murderer of her son τὸν ἐμὸν φονέα.
