(with a mark of correction) and Gud. originally give ‘referte:’ this is adopted by Ribbeck for ‘referto,’ which has the authority of his other MSS., is supported by Serv., and is better in itself. It is difficult to choose between the two equally appropriate interpretations of ‘referto,’ ‘call to mind’ and ‘reproduce.’
